Top 5 of the blog – 2015
Happy new year. I just wanted to share with you some of the best posts of this blog during the last year, this is actually based on 2015’s blog analytic and these are the most visited blog posts:
#1 SaltStack tutorial for beginners is the post number 1 in this listing
As most of this blog readers know, I published a book “SaltStack For DevOps” but this blog post was one of my firsts posts about Salt, it is an quick introduction : installation, troubleshooting, minions authentication, Salt states.. etc I created also a github repository (SaltStack Cheat Sheet) that should be of a great help to people starting Salt.
#2 Number 2 explains how to install and use Docker (32bits/X86 included)
A guide on how to use Docker on your 32bit/x86 machine since Docker runs only on 64bit machines, it could be helpful for some of those who tried to install Docker on their 32bit laptops/desktops.
By the way, I am working on a new book about Docker, since I’ve been using it for a while now, so please feel free to send your suggestions if you want to see something specific in this book.
#3 This blog post was also about SaltStack
More details on the use cases of Salt grains. Salt grains is a great module, so if you want to use Salt, you should absolutely learn about this. This post is one of many others about SaltStack in this blog.
#4 SaltStack + Vagrant = <3
Vagrant is a good tool for creating an isolated virtualized environment and when it comes to automation, Vagrant could be used with Ansible, Puppet and of course SaltStack to automate provisioning and other tasks.
#5 Finally a development post about using Celery + RabbitMQ
I created a github repository (Celery RabbitMQ Client/Server) that you could use after reading the post.
